Anmerkungen
As a part of the so-called traveling “Northern mint”, Arminiya produced silver dirhams from mid-90s to 110 AH as it has been proved historically that during that period Maslama ibn ‘Abd al-Malik, the governor of the Umayyad North from 709 to 732 CE, was involved into a bloody military conflict with Khazars. However, this unique and historically important piece which suggests a new date for the series of Arminiya dirhams, extends Maslama’s stay in Armenia until the year of his dismissal from the post of governor of the Umayyad North.
