Ferdinand III, 1637-1657. 10 Ducats 1648, Kremnitz. Buste lauré, drapé et cuirassé, à droite, dans une couronne de laurier. Au-dessus, une tête d'angelot / Soleil anthropomorphe entouré d'une double légende circulaire. Tranche lisse. 34,79g. Fr. -; Müseler 71-2 (cet exemplaire); Voglhuber 211 var. (argent).

Une monnaie unique et de la plus grande importance historique. Selon Müseler, ce multiple frappé par Hans Guett, était destiné à être offert à l’empereur lors de sa visite à Schemnitz. Le revers fait allusion au retour de la prospérité suite à la fin de la guerre de Trente Ans. La légende peut se traduire comme suit : « Sous une bonne étoile il y a un nouveau destin. La Hongrie vous offre, Ferdinand, le fruit de vos mines ». Ces mines étaient exploitées depuis le onzième siècle. En 1735, une académie liée à l’exploitation minière sera fondée à Schemnitz et deviendra la plus ancienne école technique du monde. Mining of the Ferdinandsgrube in Schemnitz. Unique and of the greatest historical importance. According to Müseler, this multiple, struck by the mintmaster Hans Guett, was intended to be offered to the emperor during his visit to Schemnitz. The reverse refers to the return of prosperity following the end of the Thirty Years War. The inner legend can be translated as follows: «Under a lucky star there is a new fate. Hungary offers to you, Ferdinand, the fruit from your mines». These mines had been exploited since the eleventh century. In 1735, a mining-related academy was founded in Schemnitz and became the oldest technical school in the world.
