Ce magnifique portrait monétaire a été réalisé alors que Gian Galeazzo Maria Sforza n'avait que sept ans environ. Suite à l'assassinat de son père, c'est sa mère Bonne de Savoie, puis son oncle Ludovico Maria qui occuperont la charge de régent.
