THE ABBASID DYNASTY, AH 132-656 (750-1258). al-Ma'mun, AH 194-218 (810-833). Dinar AH 211 (826-27), sans nom d'atelier. Inscription centrale sur trois lignes, entourée d'une légende circulaire / Inscription centrale sur trois lignes entourée d'une légende circulaire. 4,20g. A - (cf. 222.14A) ; Bernardi 51.

Only two examples recorded, extremely rare. By this time practically all other dinars had either the additional legend “lillah” ("for God") in the reverse field, a provincial name in the obverse field and/or the name of a governor of Egypt. Where this coin was actually struck in unknown, but the elegance of its execution suggests that it was struck at the mint of the Abbasid capital, Madinat al-Salam.
