Notes
It is not known why the mint name of Makka was found so rarely on Islamic gold and silver coins when the Holy City was of such vital importance to the Islamic faith. At the time these coins were struck, Makka was little more than a town with much greater religious than economic significance, which makes its coinage intrinsically rare. Only three pieces known of this date.
